When Winters' dry and cold air has your hair looking dull and lack-luster, you may want to opt for a glaze treatment at the salon to replenish shine for up to 6 weeks. I'm excited to share with you a look at my salon and one of the great services we offer that you may not know about- or haven't ever tried. A clear glaze or gloss treatment, is a wonderful way to add luster to your hair in a more permanent fashion than with temporary shine enhancers that simply wash away after shampooing. These types of treatments are actually a semipermanent hair color that with clear or golden shine reflective molecules in place of the typical colored pigment molecules. It doesn't alter your hair color in anyway, it simply freshens, brightens and adds luster to the color (natural or artificial) already in place.
It's applied to the hair in the same fashion as typical hair color services at the salon, then after about 20 minutes of process time under a low heat, the solution is rinsed from the hair and the results are achieved. Cost varies from salon to salon, but expect to pay anywhere from $30-60 for this type of service.
These clear glossing treatments typically last on the hair for 6 weeks until they fade away with normal washing. It's a great ad on service to a haircut this time of year, because you'll leave feeling refreshed and glossy even if the winter grey skies are lurking.
